ENVE Fray all-road bike and Classified hub gearing

This eye-catching bike from ENVE comes with plenty of versatility. It was set up in road bike guise at Sea Otter but a closer look reveals some of the possibilities relevant to its all-road claims. There's a tyre clearance of up to 40mm, space for on-board storage and a more relaxed geometry to ENVE’s dedicated road bike. ENVE recently partnered with Classified and this bike features a Classified rear hub with innovative two-speed internal hub gear that brings a 2x range of gears to a 1x configuration.

Elitewheels Helix wheels

You might recognise the very cool looking Helix wheels from Elitewheels which feature a variable depth, wavy rim profile designed to help improve stability in crosswinds. The 46D, which is the shallowest in the Helix range, weighs just 1280g.

Van Rysel RCR Pro Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team bike

This bike has garnered plenty of attention already this year, largely down to it’s status as a WorldTour bike from a slightly different stable than usual – that being the huge bicycle retailer Decathlon. That helps give it a slightly more affordable price tag – well, for a WorldTour team bike anyway. In fact, when the bike went on public sale in Europe they sold out within a matter of hours!

Benno RemiDemi e-cargo bike

Si is well know for his love of cargo bikes, so perhaps it was no surprise to see him hovering round the Benno stand eyeing up the RemiDemi XL. This is a super compact e-cargo bike with 20-inch wheels, 3.6-inch wide tyres, Bosch Performance Line motor, front mounted rack and room on the back for a couple of kids. Possibly on Si's list for the next commute?

Cane Creek inverted fork

Working in a different way to more conventional suspension forks, this one from American brand Cane Creek has an upside-down design, which it claims is the first fork dedicated solely to gravel. This new fork is available in two different guises with the Invert CS featuring 40mm of travel and the Invert SL with 30mm of travel.

BMC Roadmachine

The third generation of BMC’s Roadmachine is aimed firmly at the all-road market with 40mm tyre clearance, a neat integrated rear light on the seat tube and on-bike storage in the downtube.

Igus recycled plastics bike

Perhaps one of the most innovative bikes at this year’s Sea Otter and certainly one of the most talked about. Why? Well this bike from German brand Igus, is made out of 92% recycled plastic, with 50% of that being recycled fishing nets. Igus has been manufacturing polymers for the last 60 years and has recently turned some of its attention to sustainably making bikes. This one is aimed at the city bike rental market so needs to be durable with hard-wearing components. It certainly looks like it’s on the right path.
